Soulmate Connection • Copenhagen, Denmark
She went to Copenhagen to change her career, not her love life, but by the time she reached Spain, the future she'd planned no longer fit.
At 30, a Serbian teacher leaves behind a long-term boyfriend to pursue a master's degree in Denmark, certain their relationship will survive the distance. But Copenhagen introduces her to new friendships, freedom, and some uncomfortable realisations. By the time her studies take her to Bilbao, Spain, she's single, grieving a relationship of almost nine years, and sharing a flat with an English classmate she once described as a "goofy white boy." What follows is a friends-to-lovers travel romance she almost talked herself out of.
Ginger Afterthoughts…
The thing that stuck with me isn't the kiss or even their names sitting next to each other on a spreadsheet. It's that her first relationship wasn't bad. We love to act like a breakup needs a villain, don't we? But sometimes a person is wonderful, and the relationship still isn't giving you the life you want. And then there's her guilt about moving on too quickly. She worried He might be a rebound, but they'd already known each other for over a year, shared a home, and seen all the unglamorous stuff. Now, I'm not saying every whirlwind romance is a good idea, but maybe there's a difference between rushing into someone you barely know and finally admitting your close friend is the person you want.
What do you think?
Imagine you've just ended a nine-year relationship, and the friend who knows you better than almost anyone admits they want more. Would you risk a new love while you're still grieving the old one, or walk away to prove you can be happy on your own?
